New User - authentication problem

Hi,

I cannot make Sharepoint Team Services authenticate anyone... anyone who hits the site has admin access. I can add new users and assign roles for them etc, but cannot work out how to make Sharepoint prompt them to log in.

Any help appreciated, many thanks.
