I am going to ask my DBA to create a Schema so I can connect and create objects in an Oracle 9i database.

I will be using Oracle Client for a database that will be using a Web Front end.

For instance I will be building web front ends to interact with the database.

I am currently using an Access database and usually when I am developing I just make a copy of the production database and then put test/development data in the Access database and then when done I switch the database to the copied version for production. I was wondering how will I do the same when I work with Oracle???

Hi,
Before creating stuff in Oracle read the docs to learn the vast differences between it and Access..Even the term database dos not mean the same thing.

Your initial approach could use naming conventions to separate test and production data, but you need to learn more about Oracle and its methods first..

The docs are here:

The learning curve is steep, so be patient ( your DBA should be a good resource for help)
