Hi,

Anyone set up the new UDT card for UK DASS2 working?

Have set mine up as per book (Primary rate book has details but strangely the DASS book does not…?)

But can't get the DDSL to enable - always gives a DTM304.

CS1000E release 7.0 patched to recommended level
DDCS loop configured against MG
DCH configured
DDSL configured
Clocking set up.
UDT card dip switched for E1

Hoping it's something simple, any help gratefully accepted.

Norman

I'm not certain what the UDT card looks like, but are you trying to configure DASS2 as ISDN 30?. DASS ISDN 30 uses the NTAK79AA PRI card and I thought was still in use for release 7.0 software.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Always was the 79 for DASS on small/chassis systems, never saw a UDT until today!

The primary rate intall book for rel 7.0 (ISDN Primary Rate Interface - Installation and Commissioning NN43001-301) does quote DASS config on the UDT card so I'm hoping that they do work.

From page 217:

UDT card configuration as DPNSS/DASS (E1)
Task summary list
• “LD 17 configure DPNSS/DASS loop and D-channel” (page 217)
• “LD 74 configure DDSL block for DPNSS/DASS2” (page 218)
• “LD 16 configure route data block” (page 218)
• “LD 14 configure DPNSS/DASS2 trunks” (page 219)

Or maybe they just cut and pasted an old book hoping it would work...

Ok - think I have found it.

Release 7 book has a short line that says:

‘Configure the UDT card using the UDT card Command Line Interface (CLI). The RS232 port must be connected to a terminal. For more information about the UDT card CLI, see Software Input Output Reference — Maintenance (NN43001-711)’

Whereas the 'What's new for release 6' book has the whole command structure - as indeed does the maint input guide.

Flipping heck Nortel IF YOU CAN REPRINT THE COMMANDS TO PROGRAM THE DCH AND LOOP SL1 PARAMITERS WHICH HAVE BEEN AROUND SINCE THE YEAR DOT - BLOOMING WELL PUT IN THE BRAND NEW NEVER BEEN SEE BEFORE COMMANDS....

Surely someone’s idea of a joke?

Maybe I'll get this working Monday now...

Thanks for the replies, apologies if it was too obvious and you were just making me sweat it.

Sorry, been up all night on a call-out as well.

Thanks for the great forum.

Norman

Hello Norman

No worries!. I still think the 79aa will still work as I got a customers release 6.0 working using both DASS & DPNSS with these old cards.
