Has anyone succesfully used the AD/LDAP sync within the new version of UC on MSL. I've setup the LDAP query and clicked sync, the screen shows a succesfuly sync, but no users are inserted into the user list.

If I use the PBX sync that works fine, but I want all details to be taken from Active Directory.

I've double checked with an LDAP broswer that my paths are right, but still no users and no errors.

I have successfully synchronized users with LDAP.

Which attributes in the telephone tab of a user in AD are you using to synchronise and does this match the LDAP parameters which are configurable in UC on MSL.

ie MCD 4.0 SP1 IP Address = pager.
Desktop extension = IP phone
Softphone extension = otherIPphone

Also make certain that you select the LDAP entry you created in UC and then synchronize.

Ahhh, I've just put the LDAP query in and thats it. The field mapping at default values. There are no telephone details in AD, is that a problem. Do these fields NEED to be populated for the sync to work.

"Also make certain that you select the LDAP entry you created in UC and then synchronize." Not sure what you mean?

1. Select a user in Active Directory.
2. Right click and open properties.
3. Input MCD 4.0 IP Address into appropriate field i.e MCD 4.0 SP1 IP Address = pager.
4. Enter desktop extension number into appropriate field. i.e Desktop extension = IP phone.
5. If the customer is using a softphone, enter extension number in appropriate field. i.e Softphone extension = otherIPphone.

You would need to confirm that the LDAP is querying the above fields. I think by default MCD 4.0 SP1 IP Address = otherFacsimileNumber. However this can be changed in UC.

Once you have done that manually synchronise in UC and the user should appear in the accounts tab.

voipin, thanks for your continued help with this. Your right, Mitel IP address = otherFacsimileNumber. I've filled in this field along with ip phone. We have a little bit of life now. Still no accounts, but in corperate directory, its now showing the OU that the users are in...but no accounts.

I don't remember reading any of this that your telling me in the admin or installation guides.

SORTED! I needed to add (objectClass=user) for users to come in. However we still have one users that won't import but the rest are fine. Thanks.

Have you used the client in terminal services before, for us it runs and works fine, but then goes offline after about 10 seconds.

Hope LDAP works better than the 3300 sync! It always adds a user account for the softphone and another user account for the deskphone, to make matters worse the softphone textbox is grayed out so you have to delete the user and re-create.

Anyone have a tip to get round this?
