Ok, I thought I knew what I was doing, but I don't. I have had a security issue at our church withthe secretaries computer. After it crashed I installed Windows 2000 Professional. I logged in as Administrator and reinstalled all my programs. I then created two user accounts for our two ladies who use the computer. Here's my problem:

Several of the programs I installed while logged in as Admin. won't run when logged in as user1 or user2 or they want to reinstall. I thought I would just have to grant permission to the users to run the programs i installed as Admin. What did I do wrongand how do I correct it?

Second, Once I get the first problem fixed how can I allow each lady to run specific programs only?

Thanks for any help

You may need to make them Power Users or even Administrators (or change access levels assigned to normal users). Some (usually older) apps won't run in 2k unless you have at least Power User (and sometines Admin) level access. You might be able to get round it be giving users specific access to registry keys used by apps and/or files used by apps.

As to the run specific apps only. Just restricting what's on their start menus/desktop is a good start. You could also remove their access to the executables (ie, set them up with 'deny' access).
