How exactly do you setup an nt4 server to accept vpn connections.

Nick

I believe this is how you do it. It's been a long time but I think I still know.....

1. Go into your Network Properties.
2. Click on the Protocol Tab.
3. Add a new protocol.
4. Choose Point to Point Tunnel Protocol (PPTP)
5. Choosing this will launch the RAS install.
Choose the proper RAS configuration and you should be off and running....

This is how you install it on an NT system, this does not cover connecting through a firewall or other issues that can come up.

Matt,

Never done this on a Windows 2000 system but I believe you can set up a VPN dialin by going to "My Network Places" properties then click on "make a new connection" Using the wizard I believe you should be able to setup a dialin for Windows 2K. Don't quote me on this most of the VPN's that I setup are Cisco based, I just know how to do it on NT4 because I was playing around one day.....Hopefully this will point you in the right direction..
