New to Sendmail

My small biz has just started using sendmail but we dont have anone who knows how to change it. So they want me to learn how to use it and customze it. You guys got any suggestions on newbie resoursces? I have had very little luck finding anything useful

I'm new to Sendmail too and I've been reading the "Linux Sendmail Administration" book by Craig Hunt the last few days. I've read most of the book at this point and I would give it a 7/10. The book is okay.

...and I would give Sendmail a 2/10. I think I'm going to use Postfix (

http://www.postfix.org)

instead after I finish the book. Sendmail is one of the worst products I've ever used.

Orielly publications also has a book on Sendmail and i found it to be good one!

But the best resource to learn sendmail is their official website and documentation available there. I did the same.

Webmin from

http://www.webmin.com

has a GUI to help you set up sendmail and most other things on your system. You should still learn as much as you can because webmin assumes you know what you are doing although it has a lot of help on the screens. The nice thing about it for begginers is that you don't have to remember where all the files are and what needs to be compiled, mapped or hashed when your done editing.
