hiya,

we just got a DSL connection installed. it plugs straight into a switch and from there to 3 PCs, running Windows XP Home Edition. We hope to share Internet access from one PC to the others via a proxy server.

We installed Analog Proxy Server on one PC and followed the instructions and are trying to set it up however we can't ping the other PCs after doing this...

Is there anything we can do?

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Emmett

Try changing any Firewall you have to allowing the ping.exe to be enabled on trusted local machines. That should work. If in doubt, first turn off all firewalls (offline of course) & try pinging. If still not working you may need to remove & reinstall network TCP/IP protocols.

hi,
lero, you have to do this step by step, in the server pc, set it's IP to '10.0.0.1' and subnet mask to '255.255.255.0',then from another pc, pign to this pc server, if you have reply, install the proxy, then ping to the pc server, then you have to confugure you browser,to go out internet.
