Well, the Tutorials section of the Progress manuals will give you a reasonable start. Better than that ... John Campbell's book Making Good Progress from Whitestar is pretty good. And bang up to date is John Sadd's Modern Progress - downloadable from the progress website. And best of all ... get your boss to send you on a course.

You should install Progress Documentation Viewer (you can find it on instalation CDs) - there you can find tutorials and references for Progress language, database, and development tools.
