there are ways to enable php on a mac. php4 is preinstalled on OSX (as is mysql and apache). but it's a headache to get them all talking to eachother and an even greater headache to recompile php with any extensions you might want.
alternatively you can download MAMP (just google for it) and this will run apache, mysql and php in user-space.
there are other XAMP solutions for the mac as well.
Yeah, I figured it would be a pain - I was kinda hoping there was an easier way I didnt know about - so, I'll just do what I'm doing now - uploading the files to my test area and then testing the code - thanks anyway
