What Helps me is the troubleshooter, you just put that status code in and it will give you a list of things you can try to resolve the issue. And if that doesn't work, call support.

If all else fails..........reboot!

Have you used any tapes previously that started with 4MM prefix?? Have you set up any barcode rules? You can view rules that were previously set up in the inventory robot screen and then select the advanced options tab. I'm using 4.5fp6 but I believe it is still very similar setup.

The tapes are previously used. I don't know about the 4MM prefix. I have not setup any barcode rules. I can't run a bplabel or even an erase. I seem to be getting status 96 or media manager status 8 a lot. I think my tapes need to be formatted or ???

You need to identify the proper tape type: hcart, hcart2 and so on..... these need to match the storage unit...
