I'm new to the Mitel systems and was wondering if anyone could tell me a simple way to look at the cabinets and tell what they are configured for. I need to basically inventory our lines and see what is being used and what is not. Knowing how many of each phone types and trunks the system is equiped for should help a lot.

Thnaks!

Hi There,

Once you logon to your SX2000 go to the maintenance screen.

Then type the following command as many times as you have cabinets.

E.G SX2000 Redundant with 3 Cabinets I would do the following

conf long 1 -> displays info on your controller
conf long 2 -> displays info of your per/DSU cabinet
conf long 3 -> displays info of your per/DSU cabinet
conf long 4 -> displays info of your per/DSU cabinet

Hope this helps

Another command you can use from the maintenance screen is

"sys tot" (without the quotes)

The config long command will tell you only what cards are in the system. The SYS TOT command will give you a generalized summary of what's programmed/assigned, but not necessarily what's actually in service.

Once you find out what cards are where (the config long command) then you can issue the 'state' command to each card to find out what type of set is programmed and whether or not it's in service.

Example, if the config long command shows a DNIC line card in slot 2-1-4 then the command:
"stat 2 1 4" will show what type of set is programmed on that plid (physical location i.d.) and it will also show whether it is active or out of service. (If it comes back "indeterminate" then the port is assigned but has not been used since the last activity switch/transfer). You can then issue 'test' command (TE 2 1 4) to the card and therafter reissue the stat command.

Unfortunately there's no way to determine if any of the analog (ONS) station ports are 'equipped' or not, but the SYS TOT command should still give you a count of the ones that are programmed.
