Hello,

I recently have a new job requiring me to use the Merlin Magix for inbound calls.

Two problems with this:
1. there is no documentation here whatsoever on this system
2. We switched from a T1 to a PRI right before I got this job, so compatibility, setup, and testing was not done with our Merlin Magix.

This is what we have
491E1 Power units (two of them)
10A4 Trans card
Processor w/cke5
008 MLX
412 TDL LS-ID (two of them)
100 DCD

our phones are 4406D.

PRI(we have 2): protocol NI1, singaling ESF/B8ZS, BTN XXX-3000, XXX-3001 ; XXX-3009 and XXX-3022 are additional DID's pointed at these PRI's(inbound).

Generally we utilize 1 of these PRIs for the inbound using the merlin magix. The other PRI is for outbound using a predictive dialler.

My questions:
1. Does our equipment work with a PRI?
2. If so, what steps are needed to convert the system from the T1 setup to the PRI setup. (settings? programming? hardware?)
3. Does the provider of the PRI need to change settings to allow the inbound to work?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me. Anything to start me off will be much appreciated. I have tried searching around for information, however not knowing what to look for makes that task more difficult.

Yes PRI will work. First of all, the Legeng/Magix only works with AT&T CUSTOM protocol! NI1 does NOT work!

Next, you need to review previous posts on this subject on this forum. It has been covered extensively over the past six or so months. There are some FAQs that can help also. The documents can be downloaded free from Avaya's website: support.avaya.com.

Post a printout of the PRIs and dial plan of your system. This way we can all have a look see and offer suggestions to you so it will work.

Hope this helps!
