I have been "away" from Merlins for a while, my question is concerning 408 GLM-U modules. Do they support MLX type phones, and are they 2-wire or 4-wire. A tech told me they were 2-wire and I thought all MLX phones required a minimum of white/blue and white/green pairs (on 468B). Whats up? Thanks

Well, a bit more detail.

If your MLX set is an ATTENDANT position, with a DSS, you either need all 4 pairs or an aux power unit. (OK, the Orange is Spare)

Also the 4 pair are needed if you have an MFM or a PASSAGEWAY.

So, when I set a system up, I usually always wire Jack 1 & 5 with all 4 pair.

Also to correct your typo, 2BAvoice, the wiring type is 568B.

Thanks for your responses. I am familiar with MLX consoles and adjuncts, this was just a new mod. Syquest, you are correct, when I use both thumbs to type (and only both thumbs) there is no telling what will come out. Also I want to say since I discovered this site, I find it very helpful and full of great information. Anyone know where I can find a CHEAP 412 TDL?

Alas, it is my experience there is no such thing.

At least not fitting my definition of CHEAP!
