Hi all,

I am new to apple and so far I am liking it very much. However, in order for me to continue to utilize the MacOS I have to make it work within my companies current enviornment. One of the things I need to do is connect to Windows 2000/3 servers via PcAnywhere (remote desktop is not an option due to some proprietary software conflicts). Is there any Mac software that will allow me to connect to a PcAnywhere host on these servers as Symantec does not seem to make a version for the Mac? It would be easy if I could install a different remote control software but that is not an option. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

TIA!!

There is a freeware product called VNC, and variations, called RealVNC, TightVNC and Chicken-of-the-VNC and so on that support both Mac and Windows.

I should note that Symantec's anti-virus software claims that VNC is "malware" but since they're charging hundreds of dollars for what VNC gives away for free, they're hardly an unbiased source...

Symantec has a semi-legitimate reason to call VNC apps malware since a VNC app can allow a remote hacker (with the right password) to execute all kinds of root level local commands that a remote telnet user could not.
