I have a Mac running OS9 that I need to connect to a windows file server to reach a shared folder. I am not sure of the windows operating system as I have not made it over there yet but what are the basics I need to know?

For OS9 you just need to add the appletalk protocol stack in Windows Server using add/remove programs and it is in other network something or others from memory. Works for NT4 and Windows 2000. Then it shows up in Chooser as if it was an Appletalk server.
