the perl scripts point to the usr/bin/perl and indeed the file exists, yet still getting 500 errors. help?

full read write, on the script, the perl program dir, and the error log simply says premature end of headers

Zippyflyer,

You may need to change your httpd.conf so that Apache will execute .pl or .cgi scripts in the direcory that you're having trouble with.

If that's not the problem, then it's time to start looking at the coding of the Perl script itself.

the script was premade and works successfully on computers ( i have used it successfully on a windows apache server ) but i wish to faze out microsoft so any more help on getting this script to run on a linux machine would be greatly appreciated. the script in question is cutecast bulletin board by artscore studios.

a simple hello world script with full headers works fine, no headers added to the cutecast script allow it to run.
