I am a burned out network admin looking to learn Java and possibly land an entry level job- Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you...

Brad

hi Brad, i am in a similar situation. i am enrolled in an online community collegs java course(rio.maricopa.edu). the book we use is pretty good if you are new to java ( java programming by joyce farrell) i also like Sam's java in 21 days by Laura Lemay. i use both to see as many examples as possiable. Beginning Java 2 by Ivor Horton is also good, but uses lots of math calculations as a method of teaching.

hope this helps.

darwin,

HEY, thanks a lot for the tips...I really appreciate your insight...I will see if I can get my hands on some of the books you mentioned...Thanks again...
