New to Irix lost need to find my way

Ok here's the skinny. I got my Octane up and running it's at the login screen. I've never ran this before I bought it and as far as I know there are no passwords. But I'm at a screen with a large SGI logo a login spot and in the bottom left corner a S12 now my question is there a default login? or a failsafe login? any help would be great.

try logging in as "root"... this is the super-user/admin log-in... you may have to reset the password to use this system
