Have just aquired Bluetooth (BT) have been able to link from Desktop to laptop.. used PUSH and file transfer seems OK at about 700 + kbps... ea time I use either Push or Filetransfer they disconnect but client is running... have not been able to establish a full NETwork or LAN since all I have is 56k dialup. there was honestly NO TUTORIAL or how to work.. instructions were 1. install program from CD. 2. insert BT Device. What I want is to establish a full network to share between laptop(slave) and desktop(server)..any instructions on how to.. Thanks

Really depends on what Bluetooth adapter you are using and what Bluetooth device you are connecting it to. I have a Belkin which supports "Network Access" if your's supports that service, you can enable it, and then depending on your Operating System, setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) or Bridge the Bluetooth Network Adapter to your Dial-up adapter.

Cound you be a little more specific on how to do the ICS or Bridge system... XP SP2 Corp desktop.... and SP2 Home laptop.. both BT support network access... but I seem to not understand how to: thanks a million appreciate your help.

most ppl call me GrandPa...63 but learning everyday..

Hi GrandPa ;)

ICS can be done in Windows XP, through "My Network Places"

On the left, click the option that refers to creating a new network.

On the machine acting as the server, set this to access the internet using your modem or whatever, and turn on the ICS.

Then on the laptop, run the same wizard, but when asked how to connect to the internet, select to connect through another computer (ie, the server)

Use the bluetooth as the connection method!

You will have to forgive me for not being entirely specific as I am going off the top of my head!

Try that and see what happens.

Wish they had sent a manual that told something... Sorry it took so long to get back... had to change ISP's, but its faster now.. 500/128
better than 56k that was really 48/36
