First time I even got to play with Windows 2008 Server and I have what is probly a real dumb question.

I am trying to install 2008 server as a backup server that will be placed in our backup OPS center and basically do nothing. As I use dcpromo it tells me the forest needs to have adprep and forestprep ran - now the dumb side.

Are they talking about running 2003 adprep/forestprep on my 2003 DC?

or

Are they talking about running 2008 adprep/forestprep on my 2003 DC?

If so what is the ramifications of doing this?

I tahnk you for your input

You need to run adprep from the 2003 DVD on your 2003 DC;

or if you have 2008 R2
