OK! You've double clicked on this first folder and see a welcome.html?
Bookmark this page as save it as upload to f2s or whatever.

Now this is the easy part:

Just drag your two files, the html and the swf, to that window... They will be uploaded!
Let it time to upload!

Then just call up this file with the address:

Make sure there's a dot before .f2s

You should be dancin' like me!

Ah! Virt! Virt!
Is this from Dreamweaver? Your html is sort of like empty!
Will try uploading one of mine to see if it works!

Meanwhile, pratice something else!

Virt!
f2s seems to be down at the moment! My site is not available also! Maybe maintenance or something, 1st of the month?
Where are you? How long can you still hang out on this tonight? What's your local time?

Lookin for another freebie as host with quick setup, so we can continue, but if your off in 10 minutes, it's not worth it!

yeh old i'm still here..as long as it's happening to you as well that is ok..it's the server not me..i got my files in there and understand now how it works thanks to you..question,when working on a web site for a customer do u approach it the same way we were working tonight..have them buy the domain and register..then they give me the password to access there ftp and then i can upload the files to their site...then when done they can change the passwords and things like that..is that how i would build a site for a paying customer??..man you have been awesome here tonight, thanks for all your time and patience..i owe ya..time here 12:15am...will be up alnight but will be working in flash now that i know how to get the site up i have a lot to get done...would you recomend publishing the html from flash, writing it out in note pad,or using dreamweaver(which i have still not figured out completly yet).explain adding fs command to flash movie? or just do the full screen code thing in the html?

Ok! We're in the same timezone! I'll be around till around 2:00am! See if the sites become available again!
Don't think your present way of doing things will work though. Have you published this movie as a standalone, or Windows projector? That would work locally or on a cd, but don't think it will work on the web, or certainly not in this manner. You would have to use Fs command in your movie, and then again, don't think, for security reasons, you can force(maybe melocco can!) an exec on a user without his consent. Bill (Gates) can do it but I can't, not easily anyway.
If the site comes back up, and I'm gone, you can try your's and if that doesn't work, try mine:

Hit view source so you can see the html source code. It refers to a .swf file(grid2.swf) and not to an .exe like in your movie.
Of course this is a peculiar file and is not my template.
I can share my template with you later on if you need it.

Also remember to return to the secure link ( the one you got in the email from f2s) to change your password, 'cause everybody around here now knows it!

That would be one way of doing things! I mean the customers' sites. Don't really know and have no intention of doing so. Maybe Dave will have comments on this!

As for publishing, I used it at the beginning to set up a general template that I now adapt directly with notepad. Much easier for me this way... Might be different for you!

Talk to ya later!

hi guys

Awoken from the dead for another round! ;-)

>>free server no ads>>> They offer FTP upload but you have to use their dial-up connection to use the FTP, that's the only problem with it.

>>your customers>>> YOU do the site setup for them, just ask them what they want and you do the rest. When I say "you do the rest" I mean, you contact the host people and register the domain, the server, everything, and then bill the customer (well, find out the cost in advance and bill the customer beforehand!). This way you have total control over the type of server you're gonna be dealing with in the future, AND you obviously get to charge that little bit extra on your fees because although this is a relatively easy process once you've done it a couple of times, the chances are you're client won't have a clue. If you leave the job to them, you don't know what level of support you'll get from your server (ie: e-mail, PHP, CGI, ASP, Frontpage, etc, etc).

>>publishing>>> For what it's worth, I use a combination of Dreamweaver and Notepad. If I've got a table or frames to make I prefer to create them in Dreamweaver for speed, then tweak them and do everything else in Notepad.

i got it now thanks....still can't get the page to display..is the server still down on your side as well..

ok what do you mean by standalone.what do you mean by creating a seperate html that calls the swf.
anyway take a look at this and don't laugh...i know the flash part is cheesie i just wanted to get something up to see if i could get it on the site..

it's a button that links to my old homestead site...

ok nevermind i understand what you mean by standalone and creating a html file that calls the swf..when i import a swf into dreamweaver i am creating a html that calls the swf right!!!i got ya ..the site is back up now even the html that i put there is pulling up..old i want to thank you for all your help you are the man..one more question, when i buy my domain i will use the same process to get my files to the site???

Don't bother Dave! This a slow one!
Still trying to download it while replying here!

When uploading your files last night, I noticed you didn't have any swfs in there. You only have an movie1.exe or something like this. That's what I mean by standalone?
Your publishing settings are probably wrong on this!
That's the way I see it!

BTW... Whose the girl on this cheesy movie, Sam the Melocco Daisy?
