I had to replace the tape drive, I installed in, but now the software we used Backup Exec does not recognize the drive (I think), every time I try to do the backup, the device paused.
I used NT 4.0 backup and the tape drive works fine.

It seems like I have to do something in devices, but I really don't know what. Do I have to do any configuration in the software? when I go to tools and I think it is device wizard, the drive shows up

NOthing else changed, except the tapedrive.
It is a Windows NT 4.0 server, tape drive IBM (SCSI), I also have it scheduled to stop sql and start sql at certain times, what I always had.

Any suggestions, I can not re-install the software, since we don't have the CD anymore.

Thanks for any advice.

Drill down in your VERITAS install directory until you find the following file. tapeinst.exe. launch this exe and follow the suggested instructions. This should reinstall the correct device drivers for your new Tape drive. If by chance your tape device is not found, then I would suggest going out to Veritas support website and pulling down the latest Device driver install update for your verison of BE.
