I have installed the Syposium software on my server and was looking for the SMI workbench to create my database. Where is the workbench in the software install? I installed the client software on the server and setup a client but no SMI Workbench. What did I foreget to do?

I always understood that SCCS client cannot be loaded on the SCCS server. SECC is allowed but I cannot find documentation to support it so if you know its allowed the SMI workbench can be found From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs, SMI Workbench.

As has just been said, if you have installed the Symposium client on a Symposium Call Center Server vs. a Symposium Express Server, you are in trouble. This may mean wiping the drive and reinstalling.

If this is a Symposium Express, go to Start-Programs and you should find SMI Workbench. From there, you can configure a new system (i.e., you'll put in the IP address and a label, which will create an icon to connect to the server for admin sessions).

If this is a Symposium Call Center Server and IF this is NOT the server but is a workstation pc, same rules apply. Otherwise....

It is a express and thanks for the tips, I was able to finish the installation.

You're welcome. Frustrating to get hung up on something right at the end.

Does anyone know the default password to the smi workbench. I entered the user id sysadmin and then password. What is the default password?

Default settings thenext:
User: sysadmin
Password: nortel

Thanks for clarifying that, ff7121. My answer could've been read 2 ways, 'tho I didn't mean to go to Nortel.... [sunshine]

Just an update on my installation, the software we purchased was 4.2 rls 6 and was not compatible wtih Windows Server 2003. If it were rls 8 it would have been compatible with Windows server 2003. We had to downgrade to Windows Server 2000 in order to make it work. It was not in the Nortel spec sheet which 4.2 release was compatible with Windows. We had to contact Nortel direct to find this out. Too bad it's not in the spec sheet we wasted a whole week trying to make it work. Thanks to every one who tried to assist.
