Hi, I'm trying to figure out FMP for the first time. In access, writing queries was simple, just open and start a new query, I can't even figure out where to go in FMP. Can some one point me in the right direction?

It all depends on what your trying to do. If you could explain what your attempting, I'm sure you'll find your answers in the forum.
I'm assuming that when you say query, your trying to find specific data, and if so you can script your finds.

Sorry it took so long to reply. What I do currently in Access is basically print out (on demand) reports based on days. I use queries to single out a day, for instance. Also, I use queries to find all records in category X, or sum all numbers within category X.

You'd find everything you need in the FM manual, the chapter on 'Finding and Sorting Records' more specifically. It can be downloaded from FM"s website and it's not that long of a read.

Thanks I downloaded a tutorial.... It should help

Hallo Vandelay,

How are you getting on with FMP?

I'm just starting to work with it from an MS Access background and it is all very different.

What tutorial did you find and was it any use?
