Got a 6920 6930 6940 for testing and a mtl-300an WLAN adaptor

Impressed with the 6940 , much nicer than a 5360 and mobile integration is a handy feature

- threw me for a while as i didnt realise it needed a different button programmed
- also avatar display requires the url to be added to the MiVB
- takes some re-education to be come familiar with the menu but at least its all touch screen

6930 and 6920 , not as nice , menus are sometimes confusing as its a combination of wheel and buttons
- screens should have been larger - seems like most of the phone is Bezel

- screensaver branding much easier to push to all users as its device based not user based
- this means there's no problems when a 6940 user hot desks on a 6920

WLAN adaptor
- takes me back to my NEC days , its obviously japanese based as the manual is woeful - definitely written in JINGLISH

has anyopne managed to get one of these working yet ?
I can get it on our wifi and it seems to work for connected PC but cant get the phone to get DHCP via it yet .

Also is it possible to access the base when its running or only after pressing the button to get into setup mode

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

What happens if you put the phone behind the WLAN into teleworker mode?
I think they are more designed for a home user (where there is no DHCP Option 125)

its showing as bad lan link , like it doesnt recgonise the ethernet is connected ( does power up though)

Ill try it from home as a TW

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

I have a 6940 at my desk ready to be deployed but despite upgrading to MiVB 8.0 I'm getting a failure of the phone to get its firmware from the controller. Are there special settings in DHCP that are required for these new phones that are different from the usual 53xx?

We had no issues with any of ours - we are still on GA of 8.0 on CXII controller

they just worked

have had a couple of phone resets but that may have been us that coused them

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yeah it's driving us nuts. The phone gets DHCP, hangs at Contacting RCS, then blows through saying TFTP error and then Contacting Server 0.0.0.0

No static options are assigned but if we do assign the controller's IP as TFTP and Call Server, phone works just fine. Our DHCP works for all other 5300 series no problem and always has. No idea what's going on!

OK, figured it out!

YOU MUST USE OPTION 43

I added Option 43 to our MS Server 2012R2 scope and bingo, phones came up. Nothing that I could find in the documentation specified that you can't use option 125 for the new 6900 series phones.

We are using option 125 on ours and its working ( we also have Options 3 4 6 15 42 128 129 130)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

We've got both on a Windows 2012R2 server and the phones only came up after adding Option 43. Are you using the controller's DHCP? Because that works fine with Option 125.

I'm having some difficulty with the Avatars on the phone. I did program the URL on the MCD ( I did a copy paste from the MiCollab Client Enterprise tab) in the Online Service URLs but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.[ponder]

@richgraham I populated the Online Service URL avatar field with same URL from the Enterprise tab on MiCollab and it worked. Maybe check your IP routing to make sure the phones can see the MiCollab server without any problems.
