I had a old SBS 2000 Server that I demoted to a member server. This of course removed the AD and I could join it to another SBS 2003 Server. I could have just reformated it but didn't want to try and find all the drivers for it.

I also uninstalled the SQL 2000 that was part of the SBS 2000 softare and loaded up a new copy of SQL 2000 Standard Edition.

Can I just keep it that way and connect as many computers to the SQL database as I want or will I run into a license problem?

When I try to load the licensing it says "Not available in Moicrosoft BackOffice Small Business Server".

I want to move the database of our current SQL database which is on another SQL 2000 Server.

In order to use the SQL 2000 Standard Edition you'll need to get a Standard License. The SBS license covers only the SQL that comes with the SBS OS.

In order to install full blown SQL 2000 you'll probably need to install it on a full blown Windows 2003 or Windows 2000 Standard Edition OS instead of SBS.
