Howdy,

I'm installing (for the first time) Solaris 8 on an Intel box. I have a new 20GB ATA100 harddrive. Pentium Pro 200 box. I've used the Maxtor program to partition the drive but it only partitions in either fat16 or fat32. I start the install from 3.5" disk with the install cd in the drive. It detects my devices fine, i select the cd to install from and it starts the web installer. It gets to the point where it states "no disks that meet the criteria in the solaris installer documentation found".
So I guess I'm not sure how to handle this. How do I format and partition the drive? I tried running "format" from the solaris prompt at that point but I have to configure the drive type and then if I choose "format" it states it must be formated by manufacturer software. Just seems like I'm missing something simple here. Any thoughts?
