Hi

I'm totally new to this type of area, and need some assistance please.

I've installed SPS Portal Server 2003 on a W2K3 Server, using the MSSQL Database Engine supplied rather than install a seperate version of SQL Server.

After following all the Wizards etc all the way through, I have Home Page of
and an Administration Page of

Neither of these pages will open - I just get a HTTP Error 401.2 You are not authorized to view this page error

My VirtualServer Settings are
Virtual Server Name: Default Web Site
URL: Version: 6.0.2.5530

Can anybody offer assistance as to what I have done incorrectly please

Gary

What kind of IIS security settings you have? Make sure that in your web site properties, Directory Security you have integrated Authentication and that Anonymous Access is not selected. Also, check at your Application Settings under the Home Directory tab and make sure the execute permissions are script and executable. You may also want to check that the Application Account has the proper password. I have run into the problem that IIS creates the application but it is unable to put the proper password. You do this through the Application folder under your IIS Server.
