I have a new server(win2k), so I share and add the mapping to the existing login scripts(on NT 4.0) as such:
net use P:\ \\envm200\Programs$

This is the way we have always mapped drives, and all the others work just fine. However with this new server the login script hangs at that mapping for about 5-10 minutes then moves on to the next, mapping everything else correctly. Now if I just goto START|RUN| and type \\envm200\Programs$ then the folder comes up...I can restart from that point and the logon script runs each time after that...what am I doing wrong??? I dont want to turn every machine on and have to run that, I'll be here all night.

Is that exactly how the map is written? Shouldn't it be: NET USE P: \\envm200\Programs$

I would check your script, or is it a typo here?

right that was a typo here only
it does read as it should...and I found the problem
the original ENVM200 was on an ip of x.x.x.19
the new ENVM200 is x.x.x.36
So I had to delete the WINS mapping and add a new Static mapping, works fine now
