Hi,

I have added an W2k3 standard R2 server to our network, (domain controller is W2k3 sbs r2) and created a Dfs on it. This works fine when a user logs in to the system they have access to the mapped drive to the Dfs. However, if the user disconnects from the network for a split second, they cannot then get access to the Dfs - without a reboot of the client machine. I have 2 other W2k3 standard R2 servers on the network where this does not happen. Is this an issue with Dfs or have i got to change some settings somewhere? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

These DFS issues are hard to figure out.

If the client is XP SP2, have you tried completely disabling the firewall service in the Services control panel? Not just in the Windows Security console. Do that and then see if the behavior is any different.

Or try using FQDNs in your DFS path for the client instead of just NetBios names.
