New RES Versions question

I had some huge issues with Autosequence right after the 5.x upgrade myself, including the same error message that you ran into.

My fix was twofold : uninstalling a corrupted printer driver, and then (per Micros support) wiping the c:\micros\res\pos\etc\LocalDB folder and rebooting. Once those were done, Autosequence started behaving properly again.

As far as .Net versions, I believe all 5.0 applications were updated to use .Net 2.0 exclusively, as 1.1 causes some issues with Win7 and higher.

Replying to my own post, as the above fix is only a band-aid.

It appears that print jobs directly to a printer are the source of the issue. We are working around this by printing to local files and then using a scheduled task at the Windows level to spool them to a printer.
