New request on MCA module

Following a previous message, we are now able to have a remote access to our PABX and our Voice mail through MCA module (NT2K69) linked to an XDAC card (NT7D16).

The only thing which is wrong is that we need to reset the MCA module (switch power off power on)each time for establishing the connection, without that the XDAC is not answering to the module.

Any suggestion.

Our release is relase 25, software used is CRT 4.0 (Van Dyke).

Hello

Have you got a special cabel to connected XDAC to port RS232 ?
Another sugestion is reset MCA - PROGRAM 65 PROGRAM on your telephon keyboard.

I agree with you 65 has the same effect as switching power on off but it doesn't solve the problem.

From the XDAC a cable goes to the repartitor then to terminal in place of Octopus cable.

On terminal side connections are:

2 (Txd)
3 (Rxd)
7 (Gnd)
20 (Dtr)
5 (Cts)
6 (Dsr)
8 (Dcd)
22(RI)

What do you have option Meridian 1 ?
Change DEM DCE maybe will be work.
Why do you use option AUTB ON on XDAC ?
Another sugestion connect terminal to second port XDAC and check it.

If i make new connection XDAC-TTY, MCA-TTY or another i use tester for examing and treshooting the RS232C

Hello,
if your Software Release is 25.40B, you need to install
MPLR17207

Problem Describtion:

SET A: M2616 with MCA (NT2K65)
SET B: M2616 with MCA (NT2K65) in the same customer
SET A and SET B are connected on a Terminal-software (Hyperterminal)


Actions:

1) MCA A dials the extension of MCA B
2) Connection established .... enter some characters via Hyperterminal on
both sides
3) MCA A disconnects the session
4) MCA A dials the extension of MCA B again
5) Connection established .... enter some characters via Hyperterminal on
both sides
6) MCA A disconnects the session again


Expected Response:

1) Dialing successful
2) Data transmission OK
3) Disconnect successful
4) Dialing successful
5) Data transmission OK
6) Disconnect successful


Actual Response:

1) As expected.
2) As expected.
3) As expected.
4) As expected.
5) Call is answered by the remote side, but the message
'Call Connect Session Starts' is missing. No data transmission.
6) As expected.

Datacall from one MCA to an other MCA only works for one time after
unplug and replug the power supply.

Thanks to all for your messages. I havn't test and checked all your suggestions.

In brief, we have an option 51c with:

VERSION 2811
RELEASE 25
ISSUE 40 B +

We tried different ports on the XDAC and problem remains the same.

AUTB is a default one when you build the port.

Our connection is not between two MCA but from one MCA to the XDAC, but the problem seems similar after a session.

Will continue to work on this.
