Ok, I am trying to display a report which has a subreport in it. I'd like to have a new page each time the manufacturer (located in the subreport) changes. I did group the subreport on manufacturer.

I've moved the manufacturer to the group header AND left it in the details section for the combinations mentioned below:

adding a page break to the subreport
turning on the "force new page" of the manufacturer group header.

None of this seems to work. What am I doing wrong? This seems like a fairly standard way reports should be presented, so I'm sure this is just my ignorance.

Thanks!
Brian

Subreports have no knowledge of Page sections and events. Can you add the manufacturer to the Main report and use it in the link master/child. This would allow you to create pages by manufacturer in the main report.

I hear what you are saying, but this report is the results of an order, so I am already master/child linked via the order's auto-number primary key. To give a little more explanation, I am trying to print out a specific order, but break up the printout by manufacturer so that each manufacturer gets only their specific info.

Sorry, I'll need a little more hand-holding. As you probably guessed, the original order has multiple manufacturers, and these mfr's are stored in the subreport's record source. Do I create a textbox in the main report and reference the subreport's manufacturer? Just not sure what to do.

You would need to change the record source of your main report to add the field (possibly a table) that identifies the manufacturer. I can't be of much greater assistance without understanding your table structures etc.

Ok, I finally understand what you said with success. However, I did have to make the subreport's query criteria filter on the new manufacturer textbox (txtMfr), then set the "force new page" on the Manufacturer group. Thanks for the help!
