Hello,

I am trying to get my form, which is linked to an Oracle table, to open to a new record. I've tried the standard Do.Cmd.... connected to both a button and an event and both return the message "Can't go to the specified record" - you may be at the end of the recordset. does anyone have a clever way to do this? Thanks much in advance.

Hey tdenny,

When you say the standard DoCmd. are you specifing to go to a new record?

DoCmd.OpenForm "FormName", , , , acFormAdd

With the error message that your getting it sounds like it's trying to find a specific record.

If your DoCmd is like above. Then in your forms properties under the Data Tab do you have Allow Additions set to "yes"?

Hope I've been of some help,
Shane

Hello Sullaway,

Thanks for the tip. I actually finally got it to work. I did have the DoCmd. statement correct but the Allow Additions property was set to No. Thanks.
