New Record, Default Values Disappear

In A2007, I'm opening a form with the parameter acFormAdd, so users can immediately start entering a new record.

A number of fields have default values. When the form opens, it displays those defaults.

However, as soon as I start entering data in any other field, all the defaults disappear!

Does anyone have an idea as to why that would be happening?

Where are the defaults set? They should be at table level for them to save automatically for new records.

The defaults are set in the form, as some rely on runtime info, such as the current user etc. I've never had a problem with this in previous versions of Access...

I resorted to setting one of the defaults via code on form open, then the other defaults displayed OK.
