New question Windows XP Pro Problem

Has anyone had a problem with Windows XP Pro restarting while loading? Here is the steps. Windows XP Pro starts loading normaly. The windows screen comes up, the blue bar moves on the screen like it is suppose to. Just when windows is to go to the log on screen the computer shuts down and restarts itself. Window then come to windows didn't start normal option. Press enter for start normally again and same thing. Now here is where it gets sneaky. The same thing happens when trying all other options. Safe Mode loads until it is suppose to go to the desktop screen. Just when the list is done scrolling the computer shuts down and restarts. I have seen this before with windows xp pro. The repair is easy enough. Reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows and everythings seems to work fine without problem. I was just wondering if any other tech has had this problem and found a cure with out reformating the hard drive and reinstalling windows xp pro? It is a Malus Adware or virus that is causing windows to act this way? or some other bug that can be fixed? Windows XP Pro disk can not repair problem with out reinstalling fully and over writing previous installation.

You could try (if you have SP2) the Safe Mode screen option to not "Automatically restart on error" and see if that produces any reason?
