Ok, so a few weeks ago we had a bad power outage, and as the power was in the process of going out, it flickered off and on many times. Anyhow, my PSU fried and I bought a new one. It just came in today, I pulled it out of the box, popped it in, connected everything, and now my computer is acting all funky.

It turns on, fans turn on, everything seems fine, only my monitor won't turn on.
When I turn it off using the power button, it turns off, but my mouse and keyboard (both USB) stay powered until I flip the kill switch on my PSU, or unplug it.

I bought the same PSU I had before, only a 580W rather than a 480W (which was what the older one was).

Any help is appreciated, as I've been using my laptop for the past few weeks, and am beginning to miss my desktop.

I can post specs for you if you want/need.

PS: Already checked capacitors on mobo, and took the mobo battery out to allow the BIOS to reset.

Have you tried a different video card? Possibly the power fluctuations killed the processor?

Ok, crisis averted. I simply took the whole thing apart and reassembled. I guess something wasn't seated correctly!
