Some news from maxtor .

Pre-release of maxboost.
Maxtor use speciall cache tecniques to store data in memory
before written to disk.
It's required atleast 256MB ram to use the program.
To cache four disks it demands 768MB memory installed.

It can be used both eith ATA and SATA disks ,no quaranty
to work with other vendors disks.

Important notice is that it's not compatible with hyperthreading in intel processors and require it to
be turned off in bios.

Yea fine thx , i don't have maxtor drives myself, just external USB mass storage drive but that wouldn't be the same.
Please post back the experiences ,as i understand
that in the american continent the usage of maxtors is
quite large.

Well, it won't install on my Me machine and I can't find an admin privilege work around. I'll call some friends who run XP or 2000 with Maxtor drives.

Seems like I could set an admin privilege on my Me machines to fool installshield but no go so far.

My 6Y080P0 is currently doing about 40Mb/sec under three different benchmarks. I just want to see the differences.

Sorry I couldn't make it work...

Maxboost is only for Win 2000 and XP.
