I have a Mitel SX2000 and am looking at replacing it.

I want fair bids, and I am not tied to Mitel, but Mitel has been pretty stable for us.

We have multi buildings within a few blocks. We can dial a 5 then an extension to call an extension at building B, dial a 6 plus extension to reach building C etc. What is that called?

What is the best way I can prepair myself for meeting with vendors, what questions will I want to have answers for ahead of time? and what's the best way to find those answers? ways to find the answers are obvious for some questions like number of digital phones, I can probably physically count easy enough. But if I find 10 digital phones, am I better off adding 10% for growth as an example? but if there are questions they will have where I need to check programming, I may need help on how to find them...
