Pervasive is pleased to announce the availability of the new Pervasive Direct Access Components (PDAC) for Borland Delphi and C++ Builder in the Pervasive Developer Center.
This revision of the PDAC represents a significant advance in ease of development and deployment for ISVs and developers that have based their applications on the PDAC components. With this release, developers and ISVs can now develop with one set of components and deploy their applications against both Pervasive.SQL 2000i and Pervasive.SQL V8 without any code change.
The release of Pervasive.SQL V8 triggered an update to the PDAC components available from the Developer Center. This update aimed to provide our partners with a PDAC component that would take advantage of the enhancements to the SQL engine delivered in V8. Although successful in that regard, it resulted in our partners having to support two separate editions of PDAC to concurrently support both Pervasive.SQL 2000i and V8. There was no way to develop once and deploy against both engines.
This update to PDAC eliminates that requirement. Developers and ISVs can now code once and deploy against either engine. As mentioned - a significant advance in the ease of development and deployment of PDAC based applications.
