I created a new web, and made a page. In the "folders" view I right-clicked and chose new page, however the shared border from the index page is not showing up - what am I doing wrong?
TIA

The shared border is not added automatically each time you create a web page (the logic, I'm assuming, is that you may want different ones on different parts of the page or may not want one on all the pages). So you'll need to add the shared border each time you create a new page.

Aishaa,

You can set which shared borders to use in a web by default. For example, set the top border to be shared by default. Then, when you create a page for your web, the new page will automatically share this top border.

Note After you set shared borders across a web, you can change this setting for individual pages.

On the Format menu, click Shared Borders.
Click All pages.
Select the borders that you want to appear on every page in the current web. If you select Top or Left, you can also choose to include navigation bars.

So, after you've gone to Format, Shared Borders and set your default to apply to all pages. When ever you create a new page, it will have a shared border automatically by default.

I use it just on the bottom of my pages and it shows as soon as I hit the new page icon.

Hope this helps.

Jim

Actually there is a default setting that will indeed pop up the borders every time you create a new page. I do this all the time.

Hi. Is there a way to have SEPARATE shared borders within the same site? that is, can I might want to have a top border on my main and second level pages that shows all of the pages immediately below them but then I might want to have a DIFFERENT shared border on pages below THOSE..
