I'm writing a VB6 app that sends emails via CDO, it worked fine until yesterday, when all of a sudden a message appears from Microsoft Outlook: " A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No"."
This appears in a message box yes/no/help. However, the "Yes" button is enabled only after 5 seconds have gone by. What is the work around for this? If I click "Yes" the program continues, but the .Send does not work.

Um, I think that's the problem with the latest outlook sercurity patch. I've heard a few ppl talking about the same problem. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anyone who's able to go around this problem, other than maybe not install the sercurity patch? So, sorry couldn't help. If you or anyone find out how to overcome this, please post ur solution here? so other ppl can do the same. Thanks.

I have heard you can get around this with a digital signature. That's the extent of my knowledge on the issue and one of the reasons I have not upgraded yet.
