I am trying to create a new Data Source using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle. I have installed the Oracle 9i client but when trying to add this data source receive an error as follows:

'The Oracle (TM) client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporationn and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3 (or greater) client software installation.'

Can anyone help?

I can't offer you the exact solution but there are a number of articles relating to this error if you search for them.

Here is one link
If you don't have any joy, I'd reinstall the client software. We use Oracle 7 and have had problems with the installation (though it appears successful). Make sure all traces of the client (registry and all) are removed before you reinstall.

Good luck!
