A new local number scheme has been put in place begining with a 2 (2xxxxx). Currently to call these numbers the full international number has to be entered. First 9 for and outside line then (12345) 2xxxxx. How do I make it so only 9 the the number begining 2 has to be dialed? I assume is some sort of routing assignment. Can you point me in the right direction I am using the web interface. Thanking you.

Bobby R.

The 2xxxxx number needs to go to a separate route.

The route will have the same cor group but a different modify digit string.

The modify digit string will ave digits to insert 12345.

I have not done this before, can you provide me with instructions? I assume it is done in automatic route selection under system config. I hav changes a digit mod assignement to insert 12345 and absorb 0 digits. Not sure how to go about adding a route for numbers begining with 2 though?

I am getting a bit futher now.

I have added a digit modification assignment to add 07624

Created a new route assignment linking to the digit mod above.

I have created a ARS digits dialed assignment with a termination number for the above route.

Now instead of getting invalid when dialing 9 2xxxxx I get access denied. If I change the CoR to something else it will only dial 2xx and I get a nice automatd lady (local telco)saying invalid number. I feel like I am so close!!

On the new route assignment I have made digit outpulsing blank which was set to four and I think that it is working. I haven't got a valid 2xxxxx bumber to test it on yet. All the existing route assignments have digit outpulsing set at 4 though, why would that be? Does what I have done here and above sound about right, this is trial and error for me?

Thanks for your advice.

I believe you need to delete/absorb 1 digit (the 9) in the digit Mod form.

To test to make sure your routing is following the correct path through the system you can delete all of the dialed digits and insert a local valid number.

Without being able to test a 2xxxxx number, you will just have to take it on faith that it will work later.

That's done the trick! I've changed digit outpulsing back to 4 and absorbing 1 digit on digit mod and now all working ok.
