I've installed a Linksys NIC in my PC (AMD Athlon 1800+ CPU, Win XP Home) and installed the drivers from the CD that came with the card. When I go into Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark, and the message "device cannot start (code 10)". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers to no avail and also tried the card in a different PCI slot, but still the same thing. Any ideas anyone?

Have you looked on the linksys website for updated drivers?
Is the card conflicting with anything?

You may have needed to install the drivers prior to install the hardware -- after the drivers are installed, you shut down and physically install the NIC and reboot, then Windows finds "new hardware" and installs the driver.

Hello mdc1973,
Remove the nic from device manager and reboot. It should detect and install when you restart.
