What present day motherboards support Windows 98
and include drivers for this OS?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Sadly I don't think you'll find any. Manufacturers stopped making win98 drivers for their hardware a long time ago.

If you really need to run something on a wind98 machine, perhaps emulation/ virtual PC is a better choice.

If not, you may be looking at buying the hardware second hand. It may be newer than what you have, but it won't be new new.

I tend to agree, if the application can run on an VM then that would be the best way to go... Take a look at VirtualPC, VirtualBox, or VMWare Player...

or buy an older Intel Board, see the following website, scroll down for the LEGACY OS support...

good luck...

I recently bought an Epson D120 printer on the strength of there being Win98 drivers available for it.

I had to search high and low for that though and would be very surprised if a new motherboard had the 98 drivers.

I agree with the previous suggestion - people are throwing away perfectly capable PIII 933 and 1 gig computers these days so finding a suitable motherboard shouldn't be a problem, maybe stockpile them while you can!

Getting the drivers may be a bit more of a struggle, but if it's a working comp then save them from the install partition - from memory the .inf files plus some others, but I'm sure someone else will be more specific.

Regards, Andy.
