Hi all,

I want to plug a J9001A Wireless module into a 5308 switch with all the correct firmware (10_67). Will it need a reboot to pick up the module or does it have to be powered off for the module to be put in?

The modules are hot swappable. We've used one for about four months. We verified the switch was running a firmware version that works with it, installed it, and configured it.

They're hot-swappable, but the switch WILL reset itself...

On installations of the 5300 and 5400 versions, the switches didn't reset.

The two 5308xl boxes I have do reset. Only takes a few seconds, but you can see them run a self test.

Interesting. The WESM modules themselves have to boot when inserted. I didn't notice the switch itself rebooting.

Just checked, I'm running some pretty old firmware...
