Hi,
The title says it all..how do I convince the system that those are not new programs so that message and that ugly blue highlighting goes away?

XP MCE Center, SPs up to date..

Hi,
Never mind...I fould this in a Google search at
Can I Turn Off the "New Programs Installed" Message?

Question: Is there a way to turn off the thing that tells you new programs have been installed on the Start menu? I already know I installed new programs - I don't need to be told. I know it's a little thing but it's annoying. Thanks. - Rhonda

Answer: Yes, it's easy to disable the "New Programs Installed" notification. Right click the Start menu and select Properties. Click the Start Menu tab. Click the Customize button, then click the Advanced tab. Now just uncheck the box that says Highlight newly installed programs. That'll do it.

Must be getting lazy..need to work harder before cluttering posts..[blush]

Good job posting the resolve though [smile]

One to remember as it's so rare you do it you never remember how when you want to.

Turk, at least you bothered to Google.....albeit afterwards :)

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."
