Hi I´m trying to get hold of information about the new mobile ext 1.6 and how it works.

You can get a busy light for a MEX extention if it does a outbound call. But how do the phone that make this call trigger the system to set it in a busy state?

I have seen a specification about what it can do, but how does it work :)

Regards U

I think he means how the MWI works on a mobile extension
This should be a new feature in 1.6

Message Waiting on a Mobile Extension? There is no such thing (never will be as far as I can see).

From what i've been led to believe, when you make an outgoing call from the new GUI that will fit onto the Windows Mobile, Nokia or (eventually) Blackberry, it sends a GPRS message back to the MEX server (which will now have to be internet facing). The Gui is tied into your Mobile Extension settings (desk phone, monitior etc). The PBX then makes a call FROM your extension back to your mobile and makes a second call to the party you want to call. It then joins the two together so you get ringing. There fore the far end sees the CPN of your deskphone not mobile. Because the call has been made from your extension the prime light will be on, so other users should see that your extension is busy.

Hope that makes sense!

Wow someone has really played games with you. None of that on the road mapp.

There is something with Blackberry coming, but that is where I have to stop. I cannot say any more.

Sorry I could not tell you more. I can also tell you the MME will not have to be "Internet facing.

mmm that's strange cause i've seen it working? Also got a Mitel presentation on it.

The Mobile Extension server will sit in the DMZ the same as the Teleworker if you want it to work that way.

The windows and Nokia app will be available before the RIM one. The app i saw at a trade show was on Windows Mobile V6.

Guess time will tell. Be a bit embarrassing if i was right though wouldn't it MitelGuy?? ;;;)))

Who gave this demonstration?

There is a new server coming, but it is NOT the Mobile Extension Server (MME).

Mitel UK. It's part or ME 1.6. The client works in conjunction with it i'm ed to believe. NO mention of yet another server. The client app is sent over the air from a central mitel server to the device. but it's def been sold as part of ME.

this might be an answer to a question i just posted too but my boss went to a demonstration in Florida and saw something with a WM6 device he said it was Ya so im not sure now if its YA or Mobile Ext

No it's not YA as part of ME 1.6! Off to Mitel for a demo on it week after next so will report back

wheres the demo is it available to dealers.... i know there was one last year here in vegas....

Get your VAR (or if you are a VAR) then get hold of Mitel and ask for a Roap map / demo of the up coming ME 1.6 with Client apps for Windows and Nokia

i know the iphone is rolling out on the 7-11 so i dont know is it hard to program a workalike for the Win Cab files with the SDK kit of the iphone havent had one but i hear its a killer phone 3g, gps, exchange, other crazy stuff too. but its hard to get a darn phone for me these days always waiting for the best.

so does that mean the Collaboration of YA is going and the EEEEEK version of the intertel data net style collab is replacing it ??
